Beer/Cider Photo of the Week: The Gears of Brasserie Caracole

the-gears-of-caracole

Older breweries are often poorly lit. Not much in the way of lighting upgrades have been installed which makes for a lot of bad shots discarded for us photographic amateurs.

Belgium is full of breweries with antique equipment being used in their daily operations. Brasserie Caracole is one of the few breweries still operating with a direct wood fired brewery. These powerful gears turn the shaft that drives the forks through the mash in this old vessel.
