Moving from the far north of Belgium, Antwerp, I decided to go to south of Belgium and visit the Trappist Monastery of Chimay. Chimay is a world-wide Trappist phenomenon and a leader of good business practices in the region of Hainaut. Situated in the picturesque countryside of Wallonia, the Trappist monks try to maintain a life of labor, prayer, and quiet while balancing the needs of their business ventures and their desire to provide service to the community they live in.
Join me and Wonderful Wanderings in the second installment of our series – “Belgian Beer: Chimay.”
